"We have gathered here to commemorate an important turning point in our bilateral relations. The National Forensic Sciences University of India is collaborating with the Ugandan people's defence forces to establish a campus in Uganda "During his speech at the campus' inauguration, he remarked.
Jaishankar remarked that today is a happy day for both India and Uganda while addressing the gathering of ministers, high officials, and the deputy prime minister of Uganda.
Being a Member of Parliament from Gujarat, where the NFSU is located, the minister observed that it is really the first government university of India to open a campus anyplace outside of India. He said that it gives him a special sense of satisfaction to see this university take the initiative.

According to him, the NFSU is a significant national institution and the only university in the world to focus solely on forensic sciences.

The opening of the campus is a reflection of the goals and connections of both nations' top leaders.
"Strong defence ties exist between our two nations. Through its programme for economic and technical cooperation, India has been consistently providing UPDF with training and exchange opportunities. Every year, about 50 UPDF officers come to India to enrol in defence training that might last anywhere from a few weeks to a whole year "said Jaishankar.
"I'm pleased to report that during the past several months and years, our conversations have brought up the idea of further expanding defence collaboration. Collaboration between the National Defense College and Uganda's newly formed NDC is also being considered, "Said he.
Jaishankar is in Uganda and Mozambique from April 10 to 15 as part of a two-nation tour to strengthen India's strong bilateral ties with the two African nations.
